The nuts are harvested green around mid-June. That's why they are also called St. John's Day (St. John's Day is around June 24th. The date is connected to the summer solstice). It is important that the wooden shell is not yet formed. You still have to be able to pierce the nut with a number pick.

The green tree nuts are cut into slices and mixed with spices and fruit schnapps. After about 8 weeks, the final processing into tree nut liqueur takes place by adding sugar and water.

You are probably wondering why the can is packaging and not a bottle? We not only love the liqueur, but also the walnut slices. Together with vanilla ice cream, they make a delicious dessert. That's why we decided to leave the walnut slices in the liqueur. You wouldn't be able to get the slices out of a bottle, hence the can.

When you order for the first time, you must also order a pourer!
